Registration Benefits

The delegate registration fee for the 2010 CWWN conference in San Diego entitles each delegate to present his or her twenty-minute paper on the panel assigned by the conference organizers. The conference organizers are not able to accommodate requests for placement on particular panels, on particular days, or at particular times. We hope to finalize our conference program in April, at which time it will be available on our conference Web site. The registration fee also allows each delegate to attend all panel and plenary sessions, the publishers' book fair that we plan to include, and the concurrent art exhibition at the San Diego State University Downtown Gallery.

In addition, the registration fee entitles each delegate to complimentary continental breakfast in a conference hotel meeting room on the mornings of July 7 and July 8, 2010 and to a reception with a cash bar on the night of July 7, 2010. There will be an optional conference dinner, with a cash bar, on July 8, 2010, for an additional fee of $65.00 per person, which must be reserved in advance at the time of registering. The registration fee further entitles delegates to the discounted conference hotel guest room rates, of $129.00 per night for a single-occupancy, en-suite guest room, and $149.00 per night for a double-occupancy, en-suite guest room.

Finally, the registration fee entitles each presenter to two opportunities in relation to publications. First, presenters may have longer versions of their papers, which have been developed for publication, considered for inclusion in a special issue of Contemporary Women's Writing or Women: A Cultural Review or in an edited volume. There is a place on both the online registration page and the mail-in registration form where delegates may indicate if they are interested in this option. Secondly, delegates may contact their publishers and request that they join our group of conference sponsoring publishers, entitling them to send a representative to the conference to sell books at the publishers' book fair that we are planning. Further information about this option is available in the "Sponsorship Opportunities" section of this Web site.

Registration Process

Regular delegate registration will take place online or by mail between November 2, 2009 and January 4, 2010. We encourage online conference registration, using a credit card, by following the link below.

If you wish to pay by check and mail in your registration, please print up the form, available at the link below, fill it in completely, and mail it by the deadline above to the following address. Registration forms that have been mailed in with a check, in U.S. dollars only, must be postmarked by the deadline. Late registration, with an additional $40.00 fee, will extend from January 5, 2010 through February 1, 2010; mailed in forms must be postmarked by February 1, 2010 in order to be accepted.

The conference program will include only those delegates who have registered by February 1, 2010. While late registration will be possible for attendees, all delegates presenting papers must register by February 1, 2010. If you cancel your registration prior to March 1, 2010, you will be refunded the amount that you paid less a $40.00 cancellation fee. Delegates who cancel registration after March 1, 2010 will not receive a refund of the registration fees.
